PARIS FASHION WEEK - ISABEL MARANT SPRING 2013

I LOVE A DESIGNER WHO CAN HAVE FUN WITH THEMSELVES.

A FEW DAYS AGO WHEN ISABEL MARANT WAS ASKED ABOUT HER SPRING 2013 COLLECTION, SHE ANSWERED "IT'S UGLY!"
AFTER LEAVING THIS REPORTER A LITTLE SHOCKED, THE DESIGNER WENT ON TO EXPLAIN "NO NO, IT'S A BIT OF ELVIS IN HAWAII, AND A BIT OF JANE BIRKIN AND BRIGITTE BARDOT IN ST. TROPEZ AROUND THE LATE 60S AND EARLY 70S."

CUT TO A FEW DAYS LATER WHEN THE FIRST MODEL STRUTTED THE RUNWAY, AS ELVIS BURST FROM THE SPEAKERS, WE KNEW WHAT SHE SPOKE OF MADE SENSE.

THE RESULTS WERE COMPLETELY WEARABLE PIECES, WHICH I THINK EVERY WOMAN WOULD WANT IN THEIR WARDROBE.

FROM TROPICAL PRINTS, TO PAISLEYS, TO BANDEAU SWIMSUITS AND A BIT OF WESTERN INFLUENCE. A PERSONAL FAVOURITE OF MINE ARE THE USE OF STUDS. I WOULD DEFINITELY WANT THIS COLLECTION IN MY SUITCASE FOR MY NEXT VACATION.

"UGLY"
VERY MUCH NOT!
